Capital requests include playgrounds and computers

Student recreational needs are high on the list of capital budget requests by the school department this year.

The district is requesting $100,000 to help pay for a new playground at the Chandler School and $150,000 that would go towards replacing the tennis courts at the Steele Athletic Complex. Other big-ticket items on the list include replacing iMacs at Duxbury High School for $102,000 and new network switches, which connect devices such as computers and printers for $500,000.
