Reader’s View: Help make Duxbury a place for all ages

Currently, there are 4,983 people 60 and older living in Duxbury.  Estimates indicate that this number will increase to 8,190 or 51 percent of the population by 2035 with 10.7 percent (or 876 people) of this demographic having Alzheimer’s or a related form of dementia.

As a proactive measure, the Town of Duxbury seeks to become an AARP and the World Health Organization Age and Dementia Friendly Community.  This process will assist the Town in understanding the needs of people in our community...
