Paul J. O’Brien of Duxbury died Nov. 24.

Paul spent his childhood years in Quincy. He married his high school sweetheart in 1986 and moved to Plymouth. He moved to Duxbury in 1995 where he resided until his passing. He was a graduate of BC High and the University of Massachusetts Boston, he attended Lesley University and was completing his masters degree. He spent his entire career as a dedicated employee and manager at Verizon. Paul worked tirelessly for his family, whom he loved passionately. Paul also loved sports and was an avid Patriots fan. He was the quintessential family man. He volunteered as a coach and a director for Duxbury Youth Hockey. He was involved in the Big Brother Association. He enjoyed going to Patriots games, boating and traveling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching “Jack-Jack” and taking his nephews on special outings. He will be greatly missed, and fondly remembered by those blessed to have been in his life.

Beloved husband of 31 years to Gail O’Brien (Colclough) of Duxbury. Dear son to Elizabeth F. O’Brien (Hook) of Plymouth and the late Paul F. O’Brien. Cherished father to Brendan O’Brien of Quincy, Sean O’Brien of California, Erin O’Brien of Duxbury and Liam O’Brien of Duxbury. Caring brother to John O’Brien and his wife Diane of Waltham, Ellen Leonard and her husband Ed of Marlborough, Kevin O’Brien and his wife Kristen of Duxbury, Gerry O’Brien of Quincy, Meghan Haggerty and her husband Mike of Plymouth, David O’Brien and his wife Colleen of Plymouth and the late William O’Brien. Son-in-law to Marion and Bill Colclough of Quincy. Brother-in-law to Janet and Joe Bargar of Quincy and Laura Ippolito of Stoughton. Also survived by 14 loving nieces and nephews.
