Mary Danforth Lozier, 82


 

 

Mary Danforth Lozier, 82, passed away peacefully in hospice, Thursday, March 28. Mary was born in Castine, Maine, to Roger and Ethelyn Danforth on May 25, 1936.

She attended

Northfield Mount Hermon School and Colby College. Though a “Mainer” through and through, Mary has been a resident of Duxbury for the past 53 years.

She enjoyed a long career in real estate sales and management. Mary loved spending time with her family and pets, maintaining connections to lifelong friends, traveling, books, movies, art, Duxbury Beach, gardening, golf, photography and cooking.

Mary is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Tucker, son-in-law Richard, grandsons Rick and Jake of Freeport, Maine, daughter Anne Lozier, son-in-law Mark Donovan and granddaughter Maeve, of Easthampton. She is predeceased by her son John Lozier, and her brothers Richard and Charles Danforth.

Mary was an incredible mother, grandmother and friend. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and will be dearly missed.

A memorial reception will be held at Duxbury Bay Maritime School on May 19, 1p.m.- 3 p.m. There will be a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Care Dimensions Hospice or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
