Josephine Corcoran, 88

Josephine M. (Merlino) Corcoran, 88,  of Dux bury, passed away on Aug. 16. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Corcoran and she was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur DiNinno. 

She was the loving mother of Arthur DiNinno and his wife Julia Beckett of Maine, Paul DiNinno of New Hampshire, Carol DiNinno and her part ner Mark Schellenberg of Rhode Island and the late Susan DiNinno; step-mother of Matthew Corcoran of Connecticut and the late Daniel Corcoran III. She leaves behind her greatest joys, her grandchildren, Elise Burns, Amy, Danny, Allie and James Corcoran, Ethan, and Tim and Peter DiNinno, as well as four great grandchildren. She was the sister of Marie Di Marzio of Norwood and the late Joseph Mer lino and Pauline Sullivan. 

Josephine was born on Nov. 23 in Boston to Nicholas and Josephine (Travia) Merlino. She resided in Foxborough, Sagamore Beach and, most recently, Duxbury for the past 14 years. After raising her children, Josephine worked for Sentry Bank in Hyannis for 10 years. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church in Duxbury. In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, working on puzzles, reading and knitting, often donating mittens to children in need as well as outfitting every family member and friend she could.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St., Duxbury. A private burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Daniel.
