The Town of Duxbury, MA is accepting applications for a full-time Treasurer/Collector. Position responsible for the receipt, expenditure, and custody of all municipal funds, managing the town’s debt service including the issuance of bonds, the custody of tax title properties and collection of money due to the town.  Position oversees town-wide payroll tax compliance and is responsible for the administration of employee health and life insurance withholdings and distribution. Knowledge of Massachusetts municipal finance, state and town regulations, policies, and programs. Must understand, interpret, and apply complex federal, state, and local regs, communicate departmental practices, procedures, and guidelines effectively, train staff, budget, and forecast revenue.  Position interacts with the public, co-workers, civic leaders, peers from other organizations, and news media.

Water/Wastewater Operator

The Town of Duxbury is accepting applications for a qualified full-time, benefit eligible Water/Wastewater Operator.  Schedules, assigns, directs, and checks, daily and long-range work. Assists the Superintendent and Director in planning capital improvements, budget request, tools and supplies. Prepares operational and administrative reports as necessary, maintains administrative records, plots underground structures, supplies of chemicals, spare parts, tools and equipment to effectively operate a public water system. prepares statistical and chemical dosage reports as required by the DEP, is available for overtime and call backs in the event of emergencies and participates in town-wide snow and ice removal operations. 

Recommended Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma (or equivalent), 3 yrs. full-time water department or comparable work experience with at least 1 year supervising others, performing related tasks and considerable, demonstrable knowledge and skill relative to practices, methods, and procedures regarding public water/sewer distribution and treatment systems and/or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Special Requirements: Must possess valid MA Drivers License, Grade 2D-Distribution Drinking Water Supply Operator, Grade 2T Treatment, Cross Connection Surveyor/Tester, Hydraulics license.
